Hey all!

Been a year since I touched this, but DDJ5 wrapped up on Saturday and I've been working as hard as humanly possible to get some updates and new maps into Unduhagge. It was much harder this time around. I missed the first week because I was wrapping up work on No Vacancies, and I had also just started a new full time job as a game programmer. In terms of spare time, the cards were stacked against me.

And so, even though I massively overscoped what I thought I could do (assets, assets, assets!) I managed to produce what I think is still a jam-worthy contribution to Dream Diary Jam 5. There are a few things I'm disappointed couldn't get done, but I think this jam has left me with the desire to work on this game in a more enduring way.

Mina Mori and her delirious world have lived in my head for over a year, and I think I've decided that I want to explore that world to its full potential. While I intend to add to this game by creating some of the worlds I failed to create for this, and to flesh out the narrative (surreal though it may be), I've decided for sure that I'm going to investigate other engines for development. As charming as the limitations to RM2K3 are, and as convenient as it is for me to dev with it, I'm running into a lot of problems that I really can't justify anymore as I become a more experienced game developer.

It may take me a long time to decide what I want to use, so in the mean time I'm going to continue to work in RM2K3, simply as a means of keeping the work alive, and at the very least until I have all the pieces in place that tell the full story I want to tell.

Anyway, I think that's it for me. I'm a little tired and rambly. This will probably be the last thing I work on for a little while (though Summer of Screams is coming up...), because I need a break from the constant producing that has been my life for the past 3+ years.
